Gas Springs are under pressure. Work carefully and wear eye protection!
Clamp Gas Spring in a vise.
Screen off the work area to deflect escaping gas and oil splashes. Have a container ready to collect oil.
Use a 1/8" (3mm) drill bit to drill a hole 3/4" (20mm) from bottom end of the Gas Spring. Hole must be 3/8" (10mm) deep.
Drain oil by pumping the piston rod in and out several times.
Collect and dispose of the oil and Gas Spring according to local disposal and environmental regulations.
