It is designed to eliminate chatter and vibration that competitive hub systems are prone to. Being rubber, the Rubex hub has no plastics to deteriorate.It can deflect 10% for softer shifting and to reduce prop shaft shock when the propeller strikes a submerged object. Props that have separate hub kits do not include the hub kit for most props. Only when it is explicitly stated in the description are they included. A few Mercury kits have them included. All Solas, Turning Point, and Michigan Wheel brand props sell the hub kit separately.
