The Perko 0463F38038 is the flanged version of the Perko fuel demand valve, designed to mount directly to the fuel tank with a flange rather than threading in. It's a diaphragm-operated valve that opens on low vacuum from the engine's fuel pump, which means it stays closed when the engine isn't running and only allows fuel to flow when the engine is actually demanding it. That's the anti-siphon protection at work, and it's a critical safety feature for any inboard or stern drive fuel system.
The housing and barbs are aluminum, and the seals are Viton, which holds up well against ethanol-blended fuels and the temperature swings that come with marine use. The cover is Santoprene for flexibility and durability. A pressure release button lets you manually relieve pressure before servicing the fuel system. The valve handles tank pressures in excess of 5 psi and provides anti-siphon protection for line drops up to 12 inches. Maximum flow rate is up to 88 gallons per hour, which covers a wide range of engine applications. The valve measures 3-1/4 inches in total length and projects 1-1/4 inches above the tank surface. Both the barb and pickup hose connections are 3/8 inch.
