EMP 12-02582 Carburetor Rebuild Kits The drain plug gasket is one of those parts that is easy to overlook during a service and equally easy to regret skipping. It seals the drain plug on the carburetor float bowl, keeping fuel contained and preventing the slow drip that turns into a fuel smell in the bilge and a fire hazard you really do not want to think about. Any time the drain plug comes out for a carb cleaning or float bowl inspection, a fresh gasket should go back in with it. The old one has been compressed and fuel-soaked through however many seasons of use, and it is not going to seal the way a new one does. The EMP 12-02582 Drain Plug Gasket fits Suzuki outboards in the 70 to 350 horsepower range, which covers a substantial portion of the Suzuki carbureted outboard lineup. It is a direct replacement for Suzuki part number 09168-10034, so if you are cross-referencing from that number, you are in the right place. EMP manufactures this gasket to OEM specifications for a proper, fuel-resistant seal that holds up through the heat and vibration of regular outboard use. At this price, there is no reason to reuse the old one. Keep a few on the shelf and replace it every time the drain plug comes out.
