Return an Item

Return Policy and RA Request Form

Our goal is to ensure that you receive the correct item to meet your needs. If you need to return an item, please follow these guidelines so that we can obtain a prompt refund and assist you in finding the correct item.

Requesting a Return Authorization is as simple as submitting a request at the bottom of this page.

Please Read This Important Information:
  • RA (Return Authorization) Request Deadline: The request for RA must be initiated within 30 days from the date of shipment of your item to be authorized.  In rare situations where an RA is requested 30 days after the date of shipment and might be considered, the product will be subject to a 20% restock fee and will be store credit only.
  • Refusal of Shipment: Once an item has left our warehouse, we are not able to cancel the order. If you change your mind about an item, you still need to request an RA to guarantee credit back to your account. Refusal of a shipment may incur a 20% restock fee.
  • Return Without Authorization: If you return an item without obtaining a return authorization, it may be returned to you, which could incur the shipping cost and a 20% restocking fee.
  • Special Orders:  Special Orders are not returnable.  Please take care in making sure you are getting exactly what you need before ordering.

Return Situations Which Require Special Handling:
  • Damaged in Transit:  For items damaged in transit, please contact us immediately for assistance with special handling and filing of required paperwork to have your item replaced. Disputes of damaged products have to be reported to the carrier for resolution.
  • Incorrectly Shipped Items:  For items you received that did not match your original order specifications, please contact us for return and replacement handling.
  • Warranty Issues:  We will assist our customers with any warranty issues on products purchased through First Choice Marine, but we do not express or imply any warranty beyond that of the manufacturer. All defective products will observe manufacturer-specific policies.
  • Free Freight Orders:  Orders shipped within our Free Shipping Program that are returned, either partially or in whole, are subject to a restocking fee to reimburse outgoing freight.  Free Freight Orders are shipped free based on a completed sale.  We are happy to work with you on returns of those items (that fall under our other guidelines), but are not able to absorb freight for returned orders.

Return Process Policies (after Requesting Return Authorization):
  • Return deadlines: Once RA is sent to you, the item must be returned within ten days. Items not returned within 10 days of receipt of RA are subject to a 20% restock fee.
  • Return location: Be sure and follow return authorization instructions carefully, including the location to return your item.  Failure to return the item as instructed can result in additional shipping charges deducted from your credit.
  • Condition of return items: Items returned for credit must be returned in new, unused, uninstalled, and saleable condition, including any retail packaging.  Open any packaging with care when receiving your order so as not to damage it, should you need to return the product. Items returned that do not meet this requirement are subject to a 20% restock fee.
  • Packaging, insuring, and tracking: You must send the return package signature required and insured at your expense (unless it is defective or the result of our error in shipment). Packaging of the returned item is very important. Obtaining tracking is a good idea and if you do, please email or call us with that number so we can expect your return.
  • Original manufacturer boxes/packaging: Items must be returned in original packaging, including any manufacturer boxes. Please return these inside another box or wrapped and do not apply stickers, stamps, or labels to manufacturer boxes, i.e. prop boxes.  This may void your RA and incur a 20% restock fee.
  • Damaged return package: In the case of a returned item that is damaged in return shipment, you will be notified, and if you insured the package, you should be reimbursed by the shipper of the product. They retain the right to pick up the package for inspection. Although at that time it is no longer our responsibility, we will do everything possible to assist you in your damage claim. With proper packaging of your return item, this should not be an issue.
  • Checkout+: If you opted in to Checkout+, your return shipping label is included, allowing you to return any item(s) in your order for a refund or exchange for free! Return requests should be submitted through our customer portal. If you opted out of Checkout+, no worries! You are still able to submit your return through our portal. However, you are responsible for all return shipping charges. Return labels should be purchased through our customer portal.

OLAS GUARDIAN Wireless Engine Kill Switch & Man Overboard (MOB) Alarm System

The ACR OLAS Guardian is a small wireless engine kill switch that acts within two seconds of a person going overboard. It has the dual function of also acting as an instant Man Overboard (MOB) Alarm system. OLAS GUARDIAN offers powerboat, motorboat, and RIB drivers the security of knowing that their boat will stop in an instant, should the skipper or crew get separated from the boat, reducing the chances of a serious accident from a loose, unmanned, uncontrolled vessel. They are free to move around their boat without constantly having to remember to attach, detach and re-attach a physically wired kill cord. The GUARDIAN provides coverage for vessels up to 50 feet and is scalable via the use of the OLAS EXTENDER for use on vessels up to 80 feet.

The GUARDIAN functions as a wireless kill cord, which when connected to your engine's kill switch will stop the engine within two seconds of becoming disconnected. Given that the OLAS GUARDIAN also wirelessly connects up to 15 crew members via wearable OLAS transmitters (OLAS Tags or OLAS Float-On Lights), it essentially creates a virtual kill cord attached to each transmitter. Within two seconds of an OLAS transmitter losing connection, either by going overboard or via separation by distance, the engine will cut out, and a loud alarm is triggered. The engine can be restarted after five seconds, and a rescue can be performed. The rescue process is then simplified by the GUARDIAN’s ability to connect with the ACR OLAS mobile app which, in the case of a MOB incident, provides an easy to read directional screen showing the direction where the alarm was triggered and advises on the correct mayday call.

The ACR OLAS GUARDIAN is a wireless engine kill switch and MOB alarm system that provides users with a robust set of safety features. The system offers a comprehensive list of distinct advantages including:

  • OLAS Mobile App Operation

OLAS Guardian is easily operated via the OLAS Mobile APP, which enables you to set how long it should take for before the engine is shut off. The app also enables selecting if the external alarm when a Tag wearer is out of range should activate on both the GUARDIAN and your mobile device.

  • Run alongside existing Kill switch

OLAS Guardian can be used in place of or alongside an existing kill cord switch and will operate if the physical kill cord has not been attached to the driver.

On most engines, a simple parallel connection to the existing kill switch will enable the full wireless cut-off capability.

  • Automatic restart

After 5 seconds the kill switch is deactivated enabling the engine to be restarted

  • Inbuilt Alarm

An 85db alarm will sound to indicate an OLAS transmitter has gone out of range

  • Inbuilt Emergency Light

A high-power emergency Red light will illuminate, offering a clear visual indication of an alert whilst also acting as a light to illuminate the surrounding area

  • Relay selection

The OLAS App allows individual relay selection for easily adjusting if the OLAS transmitter triggers the engine cut-off/relay, or only triggers the Guardian's inbuilt MOB alarm

  • Automatic connection

When you board your vessel and switch on the power, OLAS Guardian will automatically connect to any switched on OLAS transmitting devices within 2 meters range.

  • No connection alert and override

If you board the vessel and no transmitters are switched on, the Guardian will sound an alert. This alert can be stopped either by connecting the OLAS transmitter to the Guardian or the Guardian can be manually switched off. After which the vessel can be driven as usual using the existing physical safety kill cord.

  • Pause mode

The system can be placed in a pause mode. This is used when you need to leave the boat with the engine idling, such as walking down a pontoon, knowing the OLAS transmitter will go out of range

  • Connects up to 15 OLAS Transmitters (OLAS Tags or OLAS Float-On)

Up to 15 transmitters allow larger vessels to connect crew and objects to the Guardian. Simply by attaching a transmitter to object such as a MOB flotation device or yacht tender you can always be aware if something has gone missing.

  • Extender compatible

An OLAS Extender can be used to cover areas where the transmitter signal may be blocked. This allows use on larger vessels up to 80ft and the ability to scale the system up if required.

Set up and monitoring

  • 12/24V wired

The Guardian module can be connected to your vessel's power supply to ensure it is always connected when you have the power running. The power wires can simply be spliced into an existing power supply from the boat’s battery.

  • Through panel mounting

The compact, stainless steel switch requires minimum adjustment to your existing center console, allowing it to be fitted through an 18mm hole

  • Color-coded control switch

The color-coded control switch makes the system easy to control and setup, without the need for the OLAS App. During the setup process, it will indicate the automatic setup stages with red indicator light. When the system is running it shows a green light, switching back to red in an alarm situation.

  • OLAS Mobile App data and monitoring

Monitoring tracked OLAS Transmitters enabling customized ID names for easy identification

It records the GPS location of the Alert position and guides the user back to the location and advises on the correct mayday call.

Selects which devices initiate the engine cut-off

It monitors the battery level of OLAS tags

Adds/removes tags from the sample

Activates/Deactivates the Alarm system

Operate as an external Alarm

  • System Feedback

The GUARDIAN indicates how many OLAS transmitters are connected during the setup process.

Transmitters can be Added to the system either using the mobile application or through a simple inbuilt switching process.
