GPSMAP 76S Description:As with the original units in the GPSMAP 76 series, the GPSMAP 76S is also designed to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System. This unit features a built-in quad helix antenna for superior reception and can provide position accuracy to less than three meters when receiving WAAS corrections.
The GPSMAP 76S comes with a built-in basemap of North and South America, including major highways, thoroughfares, rivers, lakes, and borders. The internal memory has been increased to a very useful 24 Megabytes for downloading MapSource data. An extra-large display measuring 1.6''W x 2.2''H, which is standard for all of the GPS 76 Series, gives users a clear view of information, while a waterproof case means the GPSMAP 76S will keep working well even if it's been submerged in water. Even more amazing, this units will actually float if accidentally dropped in the water.
If you're a devoted mariner or serious outdoor enthusiast, our new GPSMAP 76S is the GPS/mapping unit for you. The ''S'' in the product name stands for ''sensors'', because the GPSMAP 76S incorporates a GPS receiver, barometric altimeter, and an electronic compass that deliver precise location, elevation, and bearing information to take adventurers as high or as far as they want to go.
