The WaterMat is safe. Manufactured right here in the USA, the WaterMat ismade out of durable, closed-cell polyethylene foam and reinforced withhigh tensile strength webbing. Although NOT designed for towing, it hasno sharp edges, has no hard surfaces, will not splinter, and has nonails or screws that stick out. As with any water toy, adultsupervision and care-in-placement are required, but the WaterMat isdesigned for good, safe fun.

 Today's WaterMat is the product of several years' on-going innovation, tinkering and response to customer feedback. We remain committed to a simple objective: Make the WaterMat as fun, safe and no-hassle as possible.
The Original WaterMat, launched in 2005, had one carpeted side and one slippery side. We found that customers left their WaterMat in the lake for the entire season, rarely taking advantage of the fun slippery side. Further, we received lots of requests to make the WaterMat lighter and easier to carry on their boat. So, in 2007, we released the WaterMat II which was some 25% lighter than the Original WaterMat and offered not one, but two slippery sides of fun! Customers also loved the WaterMat II's new playful bubble graphics. New for 2008 is our solid blue foam version with the same playful graphics, as well as a ply of high tensile strength webbing to make the WaterMat even more durable. Please note: although extremely durable, the WaterMat is not designed as a towable behind any type of water craft. The WaterMat is HUGE: it's six feet wide and twenty feet long. Made out of two-ply, marine-grade, closed cell polypropylene foam, it is one and a quarter inches thick and can support 1500 pounds. Our commercial version, the three-ply WaterMat Plus is 50% more bouyant. The WaterMat's tethering system allows you to quickly and simply attach your WaterMat to an anchor or other structure. If you intend to keep your WaterMat in the lake for an extended period of time, it is recommended that you mark your WaterMat with a highly visible buoy. Use great care in placing your WaterMat in a location that is safe from boat traffic, sufficiently deep and free from hard surfaces and underwater obstructions.
