Horns

Horns are a necessary safety item for any boater satisfying the sound-producing device requirement.  Vessels that operate in waters under federal safety guidelines will require a horn or whistle that produces a blast of at least four seconds and is audible for at least one-half mile.  Vessels 65.6 feet in length or greater must also have a bell.  The horn can be an air horn, handheld electronic horn, lung powered bellow horn, 12 or 24v compact or hidden horns.  See airhorn and other portable horn options in Safety under Horns, Bells and Whistles.

Strobelights

A strobelight is going to produce light flashes for transmission of an emergency signal by boaters over long distance.  Many times they are available in flashlight and strobelight combos for not only boating, but other recreational use.  The strobe is usually rated by the number of flashes per minute.
